Blizzard had Overwatch, Diablo and Starcraft series deal with Netflix but was canned when they sued
· My Nintendo NewsFamed video game journalist Jason Schreier has a new book coming out soon titled Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future Of Blizzard Entertainment. One of things Schreier has shared online is that Blizzard Entertainment had a number of animated series in the works with Netflix. Overwatch, Diablo and Starcraft were all set to get animated adaptations. However, this all collapsed once Activision decided to sue Netflix back in 2020. Back then the streaming company was accused of “contempt” for state employment law by Blizzard Entertainment when it poached the company’s chief financial officer. It will be interesting to hear what else comes to light when the new book launches on 8th October.
