Pokemon GO developer Niantic has new name and new logo (update)

Update: While the former Niantic games team has officially rebranded as Scopely Explore, this is not a renaming of Niantic as a whole. Following last year’s transaction, the original company continued as Niantic Spatial, while the games business became part of Scopely and has now adopted the Scopely Explore name. Niantic Spatial retained the Niantic name following the spinoff/acquisition, while the games business is now known as Scopely Explore.

Niantic, the masterminds behind the hit Pokemon GO mobile game, have had a name change since it was acquired by Savvy Games Group subsidiary, Scopely. The company will be named Scopely Explore and will continue on as normal ahead of the 10th anniversary celebrations for Pokemon GO. You can check out their fresh new logo down below with the name and logo being updated across existing games over these next few weeks.
