Nintendo and Ubisoft partnered for a Zelda game that was eventually canned

The company pitched a game set in the world of The Legend of Zelda staring an unknown protagonist and the game was titled Project Goliath. Nintendo liked what it saw from Ubisoft but wanted the game to star Ganondorf as the main character. Ubisoft complied, but the project ultimately fell through. The Legend of Zelda game from the now defunct Ubisoft Milan started out in 2022 and was pitched in 2023. It’s not clear why Nintendo decided to cancel the game.
