Race to £10,000: Our investing monkey swings into the lead

by · Mail Online

In our Race to £10,000, our investing monkey has leapt from fourth to first, making £155 in the past seven days.

Money Mail has given £500 to five experts in different fields (and to our own investing monkey) and challenged them to turn it into £10,000 as quickly as possible.

The investing monkey, run by Money Mail, invests in randomly picked penny stocks.

Its biggest win came from a 330 per cent increase in shares in tech and AI company Xiao-i between Friday and yesterday.

The monkey overtook antiques dealer Gordon Kennedy, who doubled his money on a granite pestle and mortar he picked up for £35 and sold for £70 at the Norfolk Antiques Fair.

In third is Jess Morton, vintage clothes reseller, who is splitting her purchases into bundles to sell online.

Crypto trader Will Nutting, of investment newsletter Nutstuff, lost £14 this week.

Simon Lambert, of This is Money, gained £3, but is £26.53 down.

Last is sports bettor Kevin Quigley, who has lost £238 in all. He says: ‘This week I need my luck to change.’
