OTT: Satyam Sundaram Destroy Kamal & Prabhas

Arvind Swamy and Karthi's heartwarming film Meiyazhagan (Satyam Sundaram) is receiving an incredible amount of love on Netflix.

After surprising audiences at the box office with an impressive 200% jump in collections even after its OTT release, the verdict from streaming is clear: it’s winning viewers over, one at a time!

The Tamil drama, directed by C. Prem Kumar and produced by Jyothika and Suriya, amassed a successful 1.9 million views in its opening week on Netflix. It even trended globally, reaching the seventh spot in Netflix’s top 10.

In its debut week, Arvind Swamy and Karthi’s film ranked higher than Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, which was in its third week. Impressively, it also outperformed the opening week of many Hindi films released on Netflix in 2024.

Meiyazhagan surpassed the opening viewership numbers of films by pan-India stars Kamal Haasan and Prabhas, with Haasan's Indian 2 and Prabhas's Salaar both drawing fewer views in their first week.
