Quartr, a software and data provider revolutionizing qualitative public market research for finance and investor relations (IR) professionals, announced the closing of a €5.4 million investment from Altos Ventures.

Altos is a highly esteemed San Francisco-based venture capital firm known for its uncommonly patient approach to building companies over the long term, leading them to become early investors and major shareholders of successful companies such as Roblox and Coupang.

Quartr chose Altos as partner due to their shared belief in long-term thinking, Altos’ exceptional track record, and the personal chemistry between their team and the founders of Quartr. The Altos investment will further accelerate Quartr’s market share growth in the multi-billion-dollar financial services industry. Concurrently, Altos will take a seat on Quartr’s board, allowing for deeper collaboration and strategic involvement.

Since its founding in 2020, Quartr has emerged as one of the largest distributors of IR material globally, offering a free mobile app, a research platform built for desktop use, and an API. The company’s flagship product, Quartr Pro, has quickly become an indispensable tool for several of the largest hedge funds, asset managers, and equity research departments globally, as well as the IR and corporate strategy teams of several Fortune 500 companies.

“We’re very excited to partner with such a respected firm like Altos,” said Oscar Küntzel, co-founder and CEO of Quartr. “This validates our vision and gives us a perfect partner for the long term. The capital enables us to further accelerate our growth and continue transforming how finance and IR professionals conduct qualitative public market research.”

“We’re looking forward to partnering with the Quartr team for the long journey ahead. From initially being users to now proud investors, we believe the company is building a critical tool for all finance and investor relations professionals globally,” said Dillon Krasnigor, partner at Altos Ventures.

“After meeting the Quartr team, we were excited to learn how much philosophical overlap we share between our companies,” said Ho Nam, co-founder and general partner at Altos. “They’re focused on building a sustainable, enduring business for the long term and have a unique appreciation for the qualitative inputs to building an impactful, global business.”

Recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in personal finance in 2024, Quartr is leading the charge in transforming qualitative public market research.
