Aroundtown Lets Converted Athens Offices to SmartRental

Aroundtown has finished converting the office building at Themistokleous 11 in central Athens into hospitality use and has signed a long-term lease with SmartRental. SmartRental will operate the 43-room property as Akeah Athens City Center.

The deal is Aroundtown’s first lease with SmartRental in Greece and its first office conversion in the country. The company has already delivered similar conversions in other European cities. It develops existing buildings in central locations and matches them to local demand.

The property offers 43 fully furnished rooms, a reception and ground-floor food and beverage space. It sits next to the historic triangle of Omonia, Syntagma and Monastiraki. Guests can walk to the University, the Academy of Athens, the National Library and the main retail streets. Omonia and Panepistimio metro stations are a few minutes away and connect the site to Piraeus and Athens International Airport.
