Bouris Calls Chalmers’ Inflation Line “Greatest Lot of Crap”

Mark Bouris has given Treasurer Jim Chalmers a public spray over inflation.

On 2GB with Ben Fordham, the Wizard Home Loans founder said Chalmers was not taking responsibility for prices. He called the treasurer’s line “the greatest lot of crap.”

Chalmers has been arguing the inflation problem is not low unemployment. He points to the war in the Middle East, higher oil and dearer petrol at the bowser, and says he will not blame Australian workers. A rate decision from the Reserve Bank was due this week. Mortgage holders are already under pressure.

Bouris’s attack is political, not a budget paper. It lands as Labor faces fire from the Coalition and from some of its own MPs over cost of living and whether Canberra’s spending is feeding prices.
