Installation of Ganesha idols: CESC issues guidelines

by · Star of Mysore

Mysuru: With Gowri-Ganesha festivals to be celebrated tomorrow (Sept. 14), Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has issued guidelines to be followed while installing Ganesha idols in public places.

The CESC Managing Director (MD) has appealed organisations, associations and individuals to ensure that pandals are not erected under EHT/HT/LT power lines and that they should get information from officials on the safe distance to be maintained from overhead power-lines.

Organisers should obtain NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Local Bodies, Police and Fire Brigade to seek temporary power connection upon payment of the prescribed fee and not draw power illegally.

The organisers must not tie posters and banners to electric poles and transformers. They should make sure flags and other things do not touch overhead power lines while taking the idols in a procession for mass immersion and inform CESC to temporarily stop power supply.
