Žalgiris Kaunas announced that Paulius Motiejūnas has exercised his contractual right to repurchase the shares he previously owned in the club, following his departure from the CEO position at the EuroLeague.

When Motiejūnas initially took over as EuroLeague CEO, he gave up his stake in Žalgiris to avoid a potential conflict of interest. At the time, the shares were transferred to club president Paulius Jankūnas.

After stepping down from his role in the EuroLeague, the option included in the share purchase agreement was activated, allowing Motiejūnas to reacquire his previous stake. He now owns 55 percent of Žalgiris, while the remaining 45 percent belongs to Tesonet.

The club emphasized that these changes will not affect its day-to-day operations. Jankūnas remains in his role as president, while sporting matters continue to be overseen by sports director Gediminas Navickas. Motiejūnas, meanwhile, will continue working as director of the Žalgiris Group.
