Families gathered at Newcastle Racecourse this weekend to take part in The Children's Cancer Run. The annual fun run and activity day aims to raise money to help make life better for children with cancer.

The event, which took place on Sunday, is organised by local charity Children's Cancer North. They provide support to children, young people, and their families affected by childhood cancer across the North East and Cumbria.

During the day, there were three different fun runs - the 1km Mini Run as well as three and five mile routes. There was also food, activities and entertainment on offer in the Event Village.

Those who took part received a Children's Cancer Run finishers medal and a special snack pack from event supporter, Greggs. Here are some pictures from the event in Newcastle:
