The nine nurseries in Newcastle which have been rated outstanding by Ofsted

There has been a surge in demand for nurseries across the North East since the Government rolled out free childcare hours. Working parents in England, if they are eligible, can currently access 30 hours a week of free childcare for children aged between nine months and four years old.

All families in England can also access 15 hours of childcare for children aged three to four years. As a result, many nurseries have long waiting lists.

It has led to couples visiting nurseries to secure a place before their baby has been even been born. We have put together a list of the highest rated nurseries in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Ofsted has carried out inspections at each of the nurseries and has handed them an 'Outstanding' rating.
