Northumberland businesses with poor food hygiene ratings that 'need improvement'

by · ChronicleLive

Take a look at the Northumberland businesses that 'need improvement', with poor food hygiene ratings. The premises listed below, which have been inspected by the Food Standards Agency, have been rated in relation to their food safety practices.

The places listed below have been given a score of either zero, one, or two as a result of this, with over 3,480 food businesses across the county. The Environmental Health team at Northumberland County Council inspect each one, with the FSA ratings making sure people are fully informed on where they are going to eat or shop.

The ratings, which should be displayed on the premises, are between five and zero, with the top score of five being deemed 'very good' and a rating of four being considered 'good'. Going down the ratings, three is 'generally satisfactory, two is 'improvement necessary', one is 'major improvement necessary', zero is 'urgent improvement necessary'.

Businesses rated as zero for food hygiene must make urgent improvements to the business due to a lack of safety in the way that the food is prepared. A one-star food hygiene rating indicates that the business has significant failures in its food hygiene, and a two means that the business has not met the expected standards, with issues identified.

Below are the businesses in Northumberland which have a zero, one or two food hygiene rating, according to the Food Standards Agency.
