Queues down the street as toddlers take over Tup Tup Palace for Baby Rave in Newcastle
by Simon Duke · ChronicleLiveIt's the very night spot that is packed week in week out with students and locals, as well as attracting big names over the years like Cheryl, Ed Sheeran, 50 Cent and Mo Farah. But there was a very different kind of clientele at Newcastle club Tup Tup Palace on Saturday, as it hosted a Baby Rave.
Whether you used to see drama unfold there at the peak of Geordie Shore or have had many a night out there, Tup Tup is a place everyone in Newcastle knows and, while other places in town are long gone, it turned 18 last year and is still going strong. However, it opened a lot earlier than usual this weekend as an expectant crowd of toddlers and their parents waited outside to get in.
The two hour Baby Rave attracted a very enthusiastic crowd, with the entertainment starting for the little revellers from the moment they started to queue up outside, with bubble entertainers and flags. And once they were in, there were loads of light up props to enjoy, of course including the obligatory glow sticks needed for any self-respecting rave.
As the Baby Rave was coming to an end, another very different rave was getting going just a few minutes away, with Patrick Topping's seven hour rave set to attract in excess of 2,000 people to Times Square from 4-7pm. Anyway, back to the Baby Rave and ChronicleLive were there to get some great pictures, which you can look at in the gallery below...
