Celtic close to sealing signing – Only ‘bureaucratic procedure’ left to sort
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessCeltic have identified AFC Bournemouth’s Julián Araujo as a target to strengthen Wilfried Nancy’s squad in the winter market.
The right-back started in Bournemouth’s EFL Cup defeat to Brentford in August and that’s his only appearance of this season.
Last October, claims from Mexico reported his entourage has informed Bournemouth of his desire to leave inn January. Celtic’s concrete interest has already been reported in the UK. Record in Mexico now pick up on that and state that the 24-year-old is close to joining the Scottish club.
The parties involved in this operation are in favour of the Mexico international ending up at Celtic Park in January. Negotiations between Celtic and Bournemouth are at an advanced stage. Nancy’s side will sign him on loan without an option or obligation to buy.
Bournemouth have to sort out an administrative issue before letting the fullback join Celtic. The Cherries currently have reached the limit of sending their players out on loan to foreign leagues. They are working to resolve this so the Mexican can move to Celtic.
Bournemouth will recall Dominic Sadi from his loan spell at Novi Pazar. Once this ‘bureaucratic procedure is resolved’, Araujo will be able to undergo Celtic medical.
Julián Araujo hasn’t had the minutes he hoped for, subsequently choosing to move again.
