Club ‘licking their fingers’ at West Ham United exit – More profit on the way
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessFeyenoord are ‘licking their fingers’ at the prospect of Crysencio Summerville leaving West Ham United in a potential €40m move this summer.
Soccer News cover the situation today and explain how Summerville departing West Ham could benefit Feyenoord yet again this summer.
West Ham exit
Reports in Italy have made it clear that Crysencio Summerville is currently attracting significant interest from Roma. They are reportedly ready to spend big on the 24-year-old winger this summer.
West Ham, for their part, are also seemingly willing to do a deal. They will negotiate if they receive a fee of around €40m. They’ll certainly look for a deal if they end up relegated from the Premier League.
A transfer would mean good news for Feyenoord. They secured a sell-on clause when Summerville joined Leeds United in 2020.
That paid off when the forward joined West Ham for €30m. Combined with a solidarity contribution and a training compensation fee, they received around €4.5m from that deal.
Another nice windfall could be on the way this summer too. If Summerville were to be sold for €40m, that would yield the Dutch side around €800,000 thanks to the solidarity scheme.
€40m transfer
Hence, they are ‘licking their finger’, or their lips, whatever phrase you prefer, at the prospect of Crysencio Summerville leaving West Ham this summer.
Of course, it remains to be seen if he does and for what price. With the World Cup on the horizon, he could increase his asking price if the Netherlands give him his chance.
On the other hand, relegation from the Premier League could have the opposite effect. West Ham will likely have to sell to balance the books, and Summerville will be among the players targeted.
Either way, Feyenoord are set for another payment if he leaves the London Stadium. They’ll watching closely to see what happens, with more profit potentially on the way.
