Eintracht Frankfurt have a desire to retain the Nottingham Forest owned player. On April 6th, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that they can’t afford his €27m clause.
The German club signed Rasmus Kristensen on loan with a €15m buying option. In the end, they signed him permanently for €6m rising to €8.5m with bonuses. Last month, we relayed news they are trying repeat the same trick to retain Kalimuendo.
Not giving up on Nottingham Forest man
Bild now cover the latest on Arnaud Kalimuendo in a report mainly focusing on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Elye Wahi, now on loan at OGC Nice.
Wahi has done well in France, managing seven goals and two assists from 15 matches this year. There’s been claims of Beşiktaş’ interest in him.
Bild relay it and insists he won’t leave for less than €20m, and there’s belief the Turkish club will make a move for Wahi. The Ligue 1 side would also be open to buying him.
The Bundesliga side didn’t include a purchase option and believe his price will continue to rise. Their sporting director, Markus Krösche, remains confident of collecting a reasonable fee for Wahi.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Noel Futkeu is on loan at Greuther Fürth and hope to collect €10m for him in the summer.
Krösche and his side’s ‘big hope’ is to sell Wahi and Futkeu to finance the deal for the Nottingham Forest owned player. There’s a €27m purchase option but their wish is to hold talks with the Reds to bring the price down.
Nottingham Forest have final say
There’s no mention whether Vítor Pereira’s side are willing to offer a discount to Eintracht Frankfurt. Either way, the English club will have the final say.
If the Reds don’t, a deal becomes complicated for the German club. In that case, Arnaud Kalimuendo has to return to the City Ground and Nottingham Forest then have to make a decision on his future.
His contract with the Premier League side is until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €25m.
