Fulham transfer now hanging in the balance – Discount now likely

by · Sport Witness

Samuel Chukwueze had an inconsistent loan spell at Fulham during the 2025/26 campaign. There is still a chance of him returning to the London club.

The winger could have ended up at the London club in January 2025. A deal didn’t go through then but an initial loan deal was agree in the summer, and AC Milan agreed to insert an option to buy in the agreement.

He scored three times and added four assists for Fulham. Those contributions came in a patch and the Nigerian only showed glimpses of his talent.

Sport Witness have covered how the stance over a permanent deal was negative. Now, there could still be some hope.

Amorim holds the key

Gazzetta dello Sport report Milan can move on from a host of players in the summer. Several have returned from loans and Chukwueze is the ‘most intriguing name’ in this regard.

He wasn’t a part of Max Allegri’s plans but that can change under Ruben Amorim.

The newspaper explain Chukwueze can suit the Portuguese’s 3-4-2-1 system. It is believed there is room to give him a shot but this doesn’t mean a return to Fulham is ruled out.

Milan are now happy to consider a discount from the €24m clause, which will help Fulham secure a favourable deal.

Low risk deal makes sense

Nothing is decided yet and the media are exploring options for the 27-year-old.

If a move for Fulham is still possible, they should only seek a low-risk option. A big fee for a permanent deal won’t make sense, considering how last season went.

Milan, at their end, may not favour a loan unless there is a conditional obligation to buy.
