Strictly Come Dancing's Nick Knowles has provided an update regarding his comeback to the dance floor. The presenter of DIY SOS, aged 62, suffered an unexpected injury the day following the first Strictly live show last month and has encountered yet another serious setback.

He sustained a further injury during rehearsals last week, just one day before he and professional partner Luba Mushtuk were scheduled to perform in the Movie Week live show.

While speaking on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday evening, Nick expressed uncertainty about his return this Saturday night, remarking: "We will see how I do tomorrow and that's all I can say at the moment", reports the Mirror.

It comes after the BBC released details on the song and dance choices for the weekend with Nick's omission. The broadcaster has kept it brief, stating: "We will update with more news on Nick when we have it."

Presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman expressed their hopes for a quick recovery for Nick during last week's programme after his unforeseen withdrawal.

A spokesperson for Strictly said previously: "Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend. As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again.

"Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery."
