Iconic Exeter pubs and bars that defined the city 20 years ago

by · DevonLive

Exeter has always been a prime spot for an enjoyable night out. With venues ranging from Timepiece to Fire House, and Vaults to the Chev, it caters to all tastes.

However, if we were to hop into a pub time machine and travel back to the turn of the Millennium, landing on High Street, we'd notice significant changes.

Many of the pubs mentioned in this list have disappeared but are still fondly remembered. Some were knocked down to make way for housing, while others had a brief lifespan leaving only faint traces in our memories.

In several instances, the buildings remain intact, but the businesses operating within them have changed names.

Here at DevonLive, we pay tribute to the pubs and bars frequented between 2000 and 2010.
