Spider-Man: Brand New Day swung into theaters on Friday and is already breaking multiple box office records, becoming the highest-grossing debut of all time and beating Avengers: Endgame with $360 million in ticket sales.
The fourth installment in Marvel and Sony's Spider-Man franchise, which is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is also getting rave reviews from critics and fans alike, with both Rotten Tomatoes scores in the 90s, making it the highest-scoring MCU Spider-Man movie for audiences, tying with Destin's other Marvel film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, at 98%. With three Marvel wins under his belt, including Wonder Man, this will not be the last time we will see this director helming a Marvel (or Sony) film.
