For those who don't know, the previous event was halted by an assailant who attempted to rush the event checkpoint.

This time around, as tradition, the president took the stage to tell some "jokes," where he mocked celebrities, politicians, and journalists — some of whom were in the audience.

Unsurprisingly, many of Trump's "jokes" were highly offensive. Here are some of the most viral jokes from the night:

He mocked his longtime critic Bruce Springsteen, claiming he "looks like hell," and should rename his tour "Bored in the USA."

Trump: What about Bruce Springsteen? What the hell happens to that guy? He looks like hell. I'm sure he does not like the way I look. I don’t look so bad. The tour has been renamed: Bored in the USA. pic.twitter.com/wcHX1Zo59Q

He "jokingly" defended Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker by telling the audience not to call him a "fat pig," after Trump himself had previously called him a "big fat slob."

Trump: Pritzker—Don't call him a fat pig, ok? I'm sticking up for him. When I do that, the press can’t get me because I’m defending a man who obviously has a problem. Actually, he lost a lot of weight. pic.twitter.com/86XNxXNIEX

He "jokingly" mistook CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins (who was in attendance) for trans activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who became a MAGA enemy after she was featured on a Bud Light beer can.

Trump: Kaitlan Collins is a young, attractive woman. She never smiles. Do you ever smile? I thought she had really made it big with a major new sponsorship but then I informed her that it was not her on the Bud Light can. It was Dylan Mulvaney pic.twitter.com/Eqfu4gs7kA

He then made a Nicki Minaj "twerking" joke while referencing the previous shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Trump: But after hearing the gunshots, many people yelled, “get down, get down” which caused Nicki Minaj to start twerking. pic.twitter.com/ypi1omzLs7

And mocked Rep. Ilhan Omar, claiming she and her brother were "very much in love."

He mocked Chris Christie and Congressperson Jerry Nadler's weight by saying the two were "fighting for a big piece of cheesecake."

Trump: We will have sloppy Chris Christie fighting, I would say I could mention the governor of Chicago, but I'm going to mention instead Jerry Nadler . and they're fighting for a big piece of cheesecake… who the hell wrote this? pic.twitter.com/KlsQ2a2A3B

Then came the most sinister joke of the night...

Trump announced that he would officially be running for a fourth term as president to "save" the media's ratings...

Trump: That is why tonight, to show how much I care about the press and I want to save your ratings, I am pleased to announce my intention to, and this is somewhat of a scoop, my intention to run for a fourth term as president. I won 3 times. pic.twitter.com/lHZTayxvWT

And even sported a "Trump 2028" hat on stage.
