Brooklyn Beckham is currently in the spotlight after facing backlash and mockery over his Halloween pictures featuring him and his wife, Nicola Peltz. The pictures also featured their close friend, Damian Hurley. In the pictures, Brooklyn appeared to be the ‘odd one out’, while Nicola and Damian looked like a couple because of their complementary costumes.

For Halloween 2026, Brooklyn Beckham opted for an ab-flashing Superman outfit, while Nicola slipped into a skin-tight leather suit for a Catwoman-inspired look, matching up with her best friend, Damian Hurley, who wore a plunging black leather jumpsuit.

Brooklyn's Halloween pictures with Nicola and Damian drew heavy criticism. One particular image, in which the trio posed together, drew heavy trolling. Many social media users mocked Brooklyn for being 'out of place' and branded him a 'spare part'. Soon, people started speculating that Nicola and Brooklyn’s marriage is in trouble.

However, Brooklyn’s attempt at damage control backfired. The 27-year-old responded to the criticism by removing that particular photograph from his post. Not just that, he reaffirmed his relationship with Nicola by tagging her image and referring to her as ‘my girl’. But as soon as Brooklyn edited the image, he drew more attention, with one user describing him as “so possessive and jealous.”

In the picture featuring the trio, Damian had his arm wrapped around Nicola, who stood beside him, while Brooklyn appeared slightly behind the pair with his hands tucked into his pockets. Their body language drew a lot of criticism. Body language analyst Judi James admits the couple 'seem to show an extreme of this complementary but status-imbalanced look'.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, James revealed that Brooklyn grew up watching his parents, David and Victoria, strike iconic poses. But his chemistry with Nicola is completely opposite. Speaking about the same, James said:

“The pose seems to be in Brooklyn's DNA, although it often seems as though he's adopted the kind of adoring poses that his mum used to do, while Nicola is the one posing straight into the camera.”

James further mentioned that Brooklyn felt sidelined, as his puppy-ish smile suggests compliance. She also highlighted Brooklyn’s body language, saying the way he stuffs his hand into his pocket hints at a desire to hide his emotions. Since he felt sidelined, James pointed out that he seems to be doing everything he can to court and pander to Nicola, and to try to get some signals of attention from her in other photos.

James weighed in on fans calling their relationship 'one-sided', pointing out how Brooklyn is 'very much in the role of besotted' while Nicola is 'fixated on the camera'. James also pointed out the lack of physical proximity as Brooklyn tries to hold her with both hands, while gazing directly into her face. She, meanwhile, seems intent on staying in her Halloween character, showing her aggressive side.
