Nirmal 'Nims' Purja passed away at the mere age of 43. His tragic death sparked grief around the world. The mountaineer died after facing a horrifying avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan. Initially, it was reported that Nims Purja, along with her five companions, were missing, with four bodies being discovered by the authorities during the rescue operation.

Only a few days ago, Nims Purja posted a tweet, wherein he revealed that his initial plan was not to climb Broad Peak, but he realised that if he could do it, it would be something that had never happened before. Following a rescue operation, it was later revealed that Nirmal Nims Purja passed away. His followers have offered condolences to his grieving family. For those who don't know, Nirmal 'Nims' Purja was married and was a dad. Amid Purja's passing, let's look back at a time when Purja's wife, Suchi, revealed what her husband asked her to remember if he would ever fail to deliver a message during his expedition. 

Suchi Purja shared what her husband told her if she wouldn't get any news during his expedition

The old interview has surfaced recently. For the unversed, Nims got married to Suchi back in 2006, shortly after he joined the British Army's Gurkhas. The couple also shares a daughter (Himani) together in 2022. Suchi became a pillar of support for her husband and backed him to fulfil his dreams. There's no denying the fact that she had her own share of fears when it came to Nims' daring career. Speaking about the same in a 2019 interview, Suchi said that she feels proud of her husband.

On the Kay Burley Show, Nirmal Nims' wife accepted that it became stressful due to his daring career, but she tried not to stress much and indulged in her own work. She further added that her husband, Nims, told her that 'no news is good news', which means he had told her that if she didn't get any message from him, it's 'good news', and she kept her stress under control, remembering this line whenever she would feel tensed about her husband.

Nirmal Nims Purja's wife had been his biggest supporter

Nims often credited his wife for supporting his career. For the unversed, during a break from his military service back in 2012, he learned to climb mountains and fell in love with it. The rest is history.

When he decided to leave his lucrative military job, his brother, Kamal, was against it and didn't speak with him for months. However, later he understood and reunited with Nims. Speaking of Suchi, she is a dental hygienist, therapist, and director of the company that is linked to his work, including Nims Dai Ltd and Mountain Philanthropy Limited.

In several of his interviews, Nims expressed his gratitude for the love that he received from his wife. He once praised her for never holding him back and letting him do what he wanted to do and dreamed of. He said:

“I am so thankful I have such a beautiful wife who was super supportive and let me do what I love doing."
