The assailants stopped the owner's car, assaulted him, and stole approximately 5 visses and 29 ticals of gold, along with Ks. 5 million, all packed in three boxes.

Following an investigation, on October 23, Ma Thet Htar Khaing, also known as Yi Mon Aye, was arrested after being found with eight white gold platinum necklaces and Ks. 1 million in her bag. She confessed that her husband, Htet Aung Khaing, had asked her to sell the stolen items. This led to his arrest as well. A .32 revolver, nine rounds of ammunition, and additional stolen gold and cash were seized.

Further investigation revealed the involvement of two other men: Kyaw Gyi (a) Kyaw Zin Hein from Magway Region and Saw Paing Zaw Oo (a)  Paing Gyi from Bago Region, both of whom were also arrested. The suspects, including another fugitive known as Wai Gyi, are believed to have attended a PDF training course and planned the robbery after studying the gold shop's security routines.

During the heist, Htet Aung Khaing drove a white Toyota Corolla and used a gun to threaten the driver of the gold shop's vehicle, while Wai Gyi attacked the car with a hammer. The robbers fled with the gold and cash. Authorities are continuing their efforts to arrest the fugitive Wai Gyi.
