Chadwick Boseman’s Brothers Are in a Legal Battle With His Widow
by Bethy Squires · VULTUREChadwick Boseman’s brothers, Kevin and Derrick Boseman, have filed a request that the Los Angeles court remove Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, as administrator of the late actor’s estate. According to the filing, obtained by People, the brothers allege that Ledward has yet to distribute Boseman’s remaining estate assets in the six years since he died. They believe their parents, Leroy and Carolyn, are entitled to 25 percent of the estate. This includes a $40,000 Life Long-Term Care Policy, and additional assets like royalties and residuals that continue to accrue, IP rights, real estate, and “a previously undisclosed bank account at CNB.” The filing says Ledward’s “lack of transparency creates the appearance that she is concealing assets from Decedent’s family and from the Court.” Derrick and Kevin are asking the court to appoint forensic accountant Jason Rubin as administrator.
Ledward married Boseman approximately six days before the Black Panther actor’s death. They had been together for around five years at the time of his death. Since his passing, Ledward has made appearances on Bosmean’s behalf, like accepting his posthumous Emmy and his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His brother Derrick, on the other hand, spoke for Chadwick when he became a Disney Legend.
