Ji Sung Cast as Former Gangster Chasing Apartment “Slush Fund” in New Drama ‘Apartment’

Ji Sung will transform into a former gangster aiming to get his hands on hidden money tied to an apartment complex.

On May 19, JTBC revealed the casting lineup for its upcoming weekend drama 'Apartment,' starring Ji Sung, Ha Yoon Kyung, Park Byung Eun, and Moon So Ri.

'Apartment' is a slice-of-life human comedy that follows the story of a former gangster who runs for the apartment residents’ association president election in an attempt to seize a hidden pool of money within the complex.

Ji Sung will play Park Hae Kang, a former boss of the Oasis faction. The character seeks to become the apartment residents’ association president in hopes of securing 10 billion KRW (approximately 7.3 million USD) in capital.

Ha Yoon Kyung takes on the role of Kang Ha Ri, an aspiring lawyer hoping to join a major law firm. Feeling guilty toward her family, she lies about passing the bar exam and landing a law firm job, eventually becoming entangled with Hae Kang.

Park Byung Eun will portray Lee Chung Won, a construction company CEO and penthouse resident. Blessed with looks, wealth, and wit, he will stand in direct opposition to Hae Kang.

Meanwhile, Moon So Ri will play Jang Sook Jin, the apartment complex’s ultimate busybody. She knows everything about apartment life and its residents, and will play a key role in solving various incidents.

The production team stated, “We’ve assembled a strong lineup of top-tier actors. With the fresh concept of ‘Jangchunggeum’ and incredible synergy among the cast, we hope to cool off viewers this summer.”

'Apartment' is scheduled to premiere in July.
