“Gilbut” is a volunteer group made up of professionals from broadcasting, film, performing arts, and other creative fields. Since 2004, the group has carried out annual street fundraising activities ahead of Children’s Day.
For over 20 years, the organization has continued its meaningful efforts, taking the lead in sharing warmth and compassion. Writer Noh Hee Kyung has been at the forefront of these fundraising initiatives.
She explained the purpose behind the campaign, saying, “Through our small efforts, someone can go to school, someone recovers from illness, and someone gains a new chance at life. That is why we must never stop these small acts.”
The “Gilbut JTS Street Fundraising Campaign” is organized in collaboration with the UN-affiliated international relief organization “Korea JTS” and Gilbut. The campaign’s theme is: “Please help children in regions affected by war, civil conflict, disasters, and poverty.”
This initiative was designed to provide food and medical supplies to children who are unable to receive treatment even for simple illnesses due to chronic malnutrition, poor healthcare conditions, and ongoing poverty.
Funds raised will be used to provide life-sustaining food, educational opportunities for building a future, and hope for a new life.
The “Gilbut JTS Street Fundraising Campaign” will take place on May 2 at 2 PM at Hana Play Park in Myeong-dong.
