SEVENTEEN members The8 and Vernon recently appeared on the YouTube web show 'Salon Drip', where they discussed the group's unanimous contract renewal and their lasting teamwork.

During the episode, which aired on June 23, The8 and Vernon, who form the new unit V8, shared the backstory behind their decision to announce their second contract renewal to fans. The8 explained that prior to the official confirmation, many fans were anxious about the contract situation and the upcoming military enlistment periods for members.

He revealed that the members collectively decided to share the news during their encore concert in April to reassure fans, stating, "We thought, since we're going to continue together anyway, let's put the fans at ease first." Vernon added that the unanimous re-signing was not something they took for granted, emphasizing the significant effort and consideration put in by all members.

When asked about the secret to SEVENTEEN's strong bond, Vernon pointed to their deep relationships and the group's untapped potential. He highlighted their new unit V8, which is set to release their first mini-album 'V8' on June 29, as an example of the diverse activities they still plan to show.

The duo also offered a glimpse into their group dynamics. They playfully revealed that Woozi is jokingly called "mad dog" by the members because "once he bites, he doesn't let go" during playful teasing. Vernon clarified that this means Woozi tends to "go overboard" with jokes. Conversely, Mingyu was identified as the group's "peacekeeper" who skillfully mediates conflicts.

Despite being together for over a decade, The8 and Vernon shared that the group still has small disagreements, but they have learned to understand each other better. The8 noted that while they may get momentarily upset, they ultimately understand and accept each other's perspectives, maintaining their unique "tempo and tension."
