Ji Sung and Ha Yoon Kyung are set to deliver standout chemistry in the upcoming drama Apartment.

On June 4, the production team of JTBC’s new weekend drama 'Apartment' (written by Kim Yoon Young and directed by Jo Yong Won) unveiled photos from the script reading session. Ji Sung, Ha Yoon Kyung, Park Byung Eun, and Moon So Ri immediately displayed passionate teamwork and strong on-set chemistry.

'Apartment' is a human drama grounded in everyday life. The series follows former Oasis faction boss Park Hae Kang, who runs for the apartment residents’ council president in pursuit of hidden money, only to end up joining forces with residents to expose corruption.

The project marks a collaboration between writer Kim Yoon Young, who made her debut with 'My Strange Hero,' and director Jo Yong Won, who won the directing award at the Seoul Drama Awards for 'Missing Child.'

Ji Sung leads the drama as Park Hae Kang, the legendary former boss of the Oasis faction known for having a “0% unpaid debt collection failure rate.” To save his father figure, Yong Man, Hae Kang must secure KRW 10 billion. He sets his sights on the apartment’s long-term repair reserve fund after becoming head of the residents’ council.

During the script reading, Ji Sung confidently remarked, “I’ll do my best to create Park Hae Kang well.” He delicately portrayed the character’s charisma and unwavering sense of justice, while also capturing Hae Kang’s gradual transformation as he bonds with residents.

Ha Yoon Kyung takes on the role of Kang Ha Ri, a woman whose dream is to become a lawyer at the major law firm We Partners. In reality, however, she works part-time at the firm’s free legal consultation desk.

With crisp diction and a confident presence, Ha Yoon Kyung amplified the character’s independent charm. She is also expected to realistically portray Kang Ha Ri’s constant bickering and growing entanglement with Hae Kang.

Park Byung Eun transforms into Lee Chung Won, a wealthy construction company CEO and penthouse resident who possesses good looks, money, eloquence, and wit. The actor expressed the character with relaxed speech and gentle expressions.

However, once Chung Won clashes with Park Hae Kang over the apartment repair fund, he reveals a much colder and sharper side. Park Byung Eun shared, “While reading the script, I could see six or seven different sides to the character,” hinting at a highly dynamic role.

Moon So Ri plays Jang Sook Jin, a famously nosy resident who knows everything about apartment life and its people. The actress energetically brought out Sook Jin’s talkative personality.

Meanwhile, 'Apartment' is scheduled to premiere next month.
