The Boyz's New confuses fans as he claims he was 'never told about the lawsuit'
by Susan-Han · allkpopThe Boyz's New has spoken up from his perspective about the ongoing lawsuit between 9 members of The Boyz (Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Eric, and Sunwoo) and their management label, ONE HUNDRED.
Previously in March, it was reported that 9 members of The Boyz had filed for the termination of their exclusive contracts with ONE HUNDRED due to violations of contractual obligations. Sources stated that the only member who chose to "remain at ONE HUNDRED" was New after "a lengthy deliberation".
Then, on April 23 KST, the court formally approved The Boyz's request, recognizing the termination of all 9 exclusive contracts.
A day later, all 10 members The Boyz kicked off day 1 of their 2026 solo concert, 'INTER-ZECTION', at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. The concert took place for 3 days from April 24-26, and according to the members of The Boyz, they had no choice but to handle all planning and production for the shows on their own, with no support from ONE HUNDRED since March.
New, while participating during all 3 days of the show, garnered attention by sitting out several of the group stages, or only appearing briefly to sing his parts before disappearing again.
Several days after successfully concluding the concert, New spoke up to deliver his position on the legal dispute with fans via private messaging service.
He wrote,
"I was never fully informed of any specific details about the lawsuit. I never made the decision to stay at the company after any kind of deliberation. People are saying I chose to abandon one side in favor of the other, but that is a complete misunderstanding. I was keeping quiet because I felt like spilling about all of this to The Bs might be revealing too much, and so I'm only speaking up now. I'm sorry about that. I just want you to know that I never intended to attack or harm anyone. Please don't misunderstand."
He then added on,
"To clarify the misunderstanding, I never received any legal documents describing the details of the lawsuit. And I never decided that I would stay for personal reasons. Those news reports were fabricated. I'm not lying. I'm speaking up after holding back for a long time. Why would I lie?"
Meanwhile, The Boyz are additionally pursuing a lawsuit against ONE HUNDRED over suspicions of embezzlement.
