Ali Abbas Zafar yet to get his Rs 7.30 crore fee for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan? Producer Vashu Bhagnani in no mood to pay?

Ali Abbas Zafar directed Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The director has accused production house Pooja Entertainment of not clearing his dues.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was one of the biggest releases of 2024. The big-budget action thriller film starred Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles. It was the Eid release of this year, which had high expectations. Sadly, director Ali Abbas Zafar's film, which was a flop at the box office, failed to impress both the audience and the critics. A few months ago, the movie's production house, Pooja Entertainment, owned by Vashu Bhagnani, was accused of not paying its crew. Now, another big issue has come up in the limelight.

As reported by Dainik Bhaskar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan director Ali Abbas Zafar has reportedly filed a formal complaint against producer Vashu Bhagnani for non-payment issues. The Tiger Zinda Hai director filed the complaint with the Directors' Association, accusing Vashu Bhagnani of not paying him dues of Rs 7.30 crores. As per the report, after the complaint was filed, a letter was sent to Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) on July 31 to investigate the matter. The FWICE has asked producer Vashu to explain why the dues are not cleared yet.

Further in this entertainment news, Pooja Entertainment has denied Ali Abbas Zafar's claims of non-payment issues. In a statement, they said, "The dues claimed do not constitute a legitimate claim and are liable to various set-offs, as informed to us by BMCM Films Ltd." FWICE has now asked Zafar to submit proof that the producers owe him money. So far, the filmmaker has not made any public statement regarding the matter.

Speaking of Vashu Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment, earlier, FWICE president BN Tiwari made startling revelations that Pooja Entertainment didn't pay the crew members who worked for their three movies—Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Reportedly, the production house owed more than Rs 65 lakh to their crew. There were also reports that they have laid off 80 percent of their employees. However, in a statement in June, Vashu called these rumours false.

Ali Abbas Zafar has directed several movies like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Sultan, Bharat, Bloody Daddy, and others. In 2021, he also directed the political thriller series Tandav, which stars Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
