Three Women Tipped a Server $1, Then Asked for a To-Go Cup for Their Margarita. She Told Her Manager and Got Them All Arrested

A single-dollar tip set off a chain of events that ended with three restaurant guests under arrest, and the server behind it says she has no regrets.
Server Shununuja says three women came in to eat, tipped her $1, then one asked for a to-go cup of “water” that was actually her margarita. She told her manager. All three were arrested, and she says they also had suspended licenses.
Her TikTok caption read: “Honestly would not have cared if they tipped more than a dollar.”
In a reply to a commenter, she admitted the $1 tip is what sent her back to the table in the first place. “I only went over there after they tipped me a dollar bc I was going to see if they tried asking me for anything else. They did. I was laughing in their face.”
Handing a guest a to-go container of alcohol counts as a violation in most states, and the risk lands on the server too. Shununuja says she could’ve gotten in trouble herself.
One commenter described a coworker who spent 2 nights in jail after a table told police the server let them leave with open drinks. Cameras cleared him, but he lost the job for missing a holiday shift.
