Wizkid savages Davido after Puma deal: “We all know he’s wack! No talent!”

Major sporting label Puma’s decision to go with Davido instead of Wizkid might have ignited the long standing feud between the two, with the drama between the two Afrobeats superstars continuing to play out online.

Wizkid has been taking shots at Davido on social media these past few days, with the drama starting on October 1, when Wizkid took to the microblogging platform X with a subliminal tweet;

“Beg me! just like …” After his post, it didn’t take much time for his fans and other X users to decipher that the post hinted at a viral video of Davido.

When an X user asked Wizkid, “So if you no beef @davido your song won’t sell ??,” he replied, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”

According to Music Base Africa, Puma’s decision to use Davido as its ambassador, replacing Wizkid, may have escalated hostilities between the pair.

In 2020, PUMA signed Wizkid as their brand ambassador for $1 million per year. When their deal expired, Wizkid asked for $10 million to renew the contract–the same amount PUMA was paying musician Rihanna and footballer Neymar.

PUMA refused to continue the deal, claiming that Wizkid’s influence did not justify the $10 million, based on the sales of his collection.

A few days ago, PUMA went ahead and signed Davido, offering him the $10 million that Wizkid had demanded, which reportedly left Wizkid furious.

The musician reacted angrily to this suggestion on X, after one user accused him of being jealous of the deal.

“U idiot! I turned down Puma because they could no longer afford to pay me because I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste you just mentioned! Not jealous ! love them all. With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!

“No ! Puma is a Big brand! But the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!”

Meanwhile, Davido has seemingly ignored the drama, instead posting about his Martell campaign.

Since 2021, Davido has been representing Martell’s “Standout Swift” campaign.

“Stay authentic to your craft, resilient on your journey, and lift others along with you. Be the Standout Swift. Are you ready to soar together?” he posted.
