On the evening of Sunday, September 13, as the New York Fashion Week festivities continued, Hypebeast took over the intimate rooftop garden of Ludlow House in Manhattan’s Lower East Side for “Hypebeast Afterhours with Sandy Liang”. The party marked the debut of her Spring/Summer 2027 collection, which had closed out on the runway at Petzel Gallery in Chelsea just hours earlier, giving guests barely enough time to trade their seats for cocktails before funneling into the top floor of the former gold leaf factory.

Throughout the evening, Japanese whisky brand House of Suntory mixed special drinks featuring the Suntory Toki, a smooth, versatile blended whisky. While guests sipped on highballs and sours, New York City-based DJ Emily Yun and DJ, producer, and multidisciplinary artist Lumia were behind the decks, keeping the crowd hypnotized with her electronic, bassline-driven sound.

Dressed in pastel, silky, and sporty pieces from the newest collection, the designer’s inner circle showed out to celebrate a collection that filtered girlhood through utility, with fantasy stitched into function. Stacked with friends, family, and collaborators, the guest list included Devon Lee Carlson, Yoon Ahn, Dean DiCriscio, Jordan Daniels, Kelsey Calemine, Maria Alia, Noor Elkhaldi, Jeremyn Lee, and Sandy Liang herself.

By the end of the night, “Hypebeast Afterhours with Sandy Liang” had done exactly what it set out to do — extend the energy of her standout NYFW show into a celebration built around the same spirit as the collection itself. The rooftop became proof that Sandy Liang’s Spring/Summer 2027 vision wasn’t confined to the runway, but lived on in every corner of Ludlow House.
