Carri Lockhart likes a goal. As a young girl, Lockhart, chief executive of the oil and gas company Karoon Energy, dreamt of becoming an aeronautical or aerospace engineer and working for NASA or aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
Some of her goals, such as being an astronaut, fell by the wayside. Others came to fruition, only to be replaced by new aspirations, which, perhaps oddly for an executive, who readily confesses to being hyper-competitive, did not include becoming a chief executive officer.
