Like many companies, from Westpac to Uber, Thomson Reuters, a global technology and information company, is alive to the rising costs associated with the use of artificial intelligence.

President and chief executive Steve Hasker says the company, which is valued at $US40 billion ($57 billion), is disciplined financially. Nevertheless, costs are rising.
