Bike-borne men intercept Delhi businessman's staff in auto, flee with Rs 1 crore

Two bike-borne men stopped an auto-rickshaw carrying a Delhi businessman's staff and stole a bag with Rs 1 crore at gunpoint. Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the circumstances leading to the robbery.

Two bike-borne men intercepted an auto-rickshaw carrying staff members of a Delhi businessman and fled with a bag containing Rs 1 crore at gunpoint, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening near ITO in central Delhi when the businessman's staff were carrying around Rs 3 crore in cash in the auto-rickshaw when two men riding a bike intercepted them.

The accused then brandished a pistol and took away a bag containing Rs 1 crore before fleeing from the spot.

An FIR was registered at Daryaganj police station. Police are investigating the robbery and are working to identify and trace the accused.

The circumstances surrounding the movement of the cash and the route taken by the auto-rickshaw are also being examined as part of the investigation.
