Bengaluru CEO gets broken footpath fixed for Rs 2,700 after complaints go unanswered

A Bengaluru CEO said the footpath had been broken for years and that he had complained to the BBMP, emailed the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), raised a ticket and contacted its WhatsApp helpline, but received no response.

A Bengaluru-based entrepreneur took matters into his own hands after repeated complaints about a broken footpath near his society in Koramangala went unanswered.

In a post on X, Siddharth Dialani shared before-and-after pictures of the footpath after getting it repaired himself.

Dialani said the footpath had been broken for years and that he had complained to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), emailed the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), raised a ticket and contacted its WhatsApp helpline, but received no response.

He eventually decided to get the footpath repaired himself. The work, including labour charges and cement used to build a ramp, cost him Rs 2,700.

“Finally, decided to fix it myself,” Dialani wrote while sharing the pictures, adding: “Parents with stroller and senior citizens on wheelchair can use it conveniently now.”

The post has received around 391,600 views. Dialani also tagged several personalities, including Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Nikhil Kamath, and called for collective efforts to improve more areas of Bengaluru.

“We should work together and scale this to more areas of Bangalore,” he said in subsequent posts.
