Actor Kareena Kapoor on Thursday expressed relief and hope after the Delhi High Court ordered that status quo be maintained on the estate of late businessman Sunjay Kapur. Her post came soon after the court granted interim protection in a plea moved by the children of Sunjay and actor Karisma Kapoor.

Shortly after the ruling, Kareena shared a message on Instagram Stories that read, “And there is light (red heart and rainbow emoticons). Justice and truth will always prevail. Chardikala (folded hands emoticon).” She did not mention the case directly in the post.

What the court said

Earlier in the day, the Delhi High Court ordered that the assets of Sunjay, who died in London in June 2025, be preserved amid a dispute between his third wife, Priya Sachdeva Kapur, and his children Kiaan and Samaira from his second marriage to Karisma. The businessman leaves behind an estate worth around Rs 30,000 crore.

Kiaan and Samaira have alleged that Priya forged a will attributed to Sunjay and submitted an incomplete disclosure of his assets.

Karisma and Sunjay married in 2003. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2016. Sunjay later married Priya, while Karisma continued to live in Mumbai.

After Sunjay’s death, his estate became the subject of a court battle. In August last year, Priya presented a document before the Delhi High Court, claiming it was his will. The document was challenged by Samaira, Kiaan and Rani.

In August, Karisma sued Priya on behalf of her children, alleging that Priya had fabricated Sunjay’s will and kept their two children out of their inheritance.
