ICAI CA Intermediate May result 2026 out: Shardul Shekhar Vichare tops with 88.5%

ICAI has declared the CA Intermediate examination results for May 2026. Group II recorded the highest pass rate as candidates check scorecards and rank details.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the CA Intermediate Examination results for May 2026, bringing clarity for over 1.5 lakh candidates who appeared across India and abroad.

The results show a mixed performance, with pass percentages remaining low across groups but Group II emerging as the strongest.

A total of 1,53,862 candidates appeared for the examination conducted at 611 centres. The results were released along with detailed group-wise analysis and the list of all-India toppers.

The top rank in the examination was secured by Shardul Shekhar Vichare from Dombivali, who scored 531 out of 600 marks, achieving 88.50 per cent.

Abhinav Satheesh from Kochi secured second place with 530 marks, while Mumbai’s Teerth Jain came third with 519 marks.

GROUP 2 LEADS, BUT OVERALL PASS RATE LOW

Among the three categories, Group II recorded the highest success rate. Out of 64,381 candidates, 10,372 cleared the exam, taking the pass percentage to 16.11 per cent. Group I saw 9,350 candidates pass out of 91,237, resulting in a 10.25 per cent success rate.

The toughest outcome came for candidates who attempted both groups together. Only 2,820 out of 33,304 candidates cleared both groups, resulting in a pass percentage of 8.47 per cent.

ICAI officials said the results reflect the demanding nature of the examination, which continues to test conceptual clarity and application skills rather than rote learning.

• Click on the "CA Intermediate Result – May 2026" link available on the homepage.
• Enter the required credentials, such as your Roll Number and Registration Number or PIN (if applicable).
• Click on the Submit button.
• Your CA Intermediate May 2026 result will be displayed on the screen.
• Download the scorecard and keep a printed copy for future reference.

ICAI President CA Prasanna Kumar D congratulated successful candidates and encouraged those who could not clear to continue their preparation.

In his message, he said, “Success is a continuous path; whenever we achieve a milestone, we must set new benchmarks, move toward new dreams and work relentlessly to fulfill them. Stay focused and keep working hard, your time to shine is ahead.”

Candidates can access their scorecards on the official result portal using their registration and roll numbers. With the results now out, successful students will move forward in the CA qualification pathway, while others prepare for the next attempt in one of India’s toughest professional exams.
