Maruti Suzuki introduces smart maintenance plan, offers flexible prepaid service packages
Maruti Suzuki India has introduced a smart maintenance plan, a flexible prepaid service programme that allows customers to customise maintenance packages, reduce ownership costs and safeguard against future service price hikes.
by Saumya Shubham Jha · India TodayMaruti Suzuki India has introduced the smart maintenance plan (SMP), a new prepaid after-sales service programme aimed at enhancing the ownership experience through flexible and customisable maintenance packages.
The plan is available to both private and commercial vehicle owners and can be purchased either at the time of buying a new vehicle or later through any authorised Maruti Suzuki workshop across the country.
Under SMP, customers can choose from multiple service configurations, including labour-only packages, parts and labour coverage, commercial vehicle minor services, customer-demanded services, and coverage for engine oil and coolants. The company is also offering optional wear-and-tear protection for select components such as clutch and brake parts.
According to Maruti Suzuki, customers opting for the smart maintenance plan can save at least 10 per cent on labour costs, along with additional savings on parts and consumables. The prepaid nature of the package also shields customers from future increases in service and maintenance costs for covered items.
The company is offering multiple tenure and mileage options under SMP. Private vehicle owners can choose plans ranging from 2 years/20,000km to 10 years/1,00,000km, while commercial vehicle customers can opt for coverage extending up to 10 years/1,60,000km.
A key highlight of the programme is its nationwide applicability, allowing customers to avail services at any authorised Maruti Suzuki workshop regardless of where the plan was originally purchased.
Commenting on the launch, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the initiative has been designed to meet evolving customer expectations for greater flexibility and personalised ownership solutions.
"Customers can customise service packages while also protecting themselves from future fluctuations in service costs by locking in maintenance expenses. Through this initiative, we aim to further enhance convenience, trust and long-term value for our customers," he said.
The launch of SMP further strengthens Maruti Suzuki’s after-sales portfolio, with the automaker focusing on reducing ownership costs while offering customers greater predictability and convenience throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
