Ultraviolette Shockwave to get new 100V architecture, launch in Q1 2027

Ultraviolette will launch the Shockwave electric motorcycle in Q1 2027 with a new 100V architecture, promising improved power delivery, thermal efficiency and faster charging.

Ultraviolette has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave electric motorcycle will be built on the company’s new 100V architecture and will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2027. The company has also started preparing its existing manufacturing facility for production of the new motorcycle.

Ultraviolette Shockwave gets 100V architecture

The move to the 100V electrical architecture is expected to bring improvements in power delivery, thermal efficiency and charging performance. Ultraviolette has already confirmed that the larger Tesseract electric motorcycle will also use the new architecture.

The Shockwave was first conceived as a lightweight electric motorcycle focused on riding fun. Ultraviolette describes it as a FUNDURO, drawing inspiration from the character of classic two-stroke motorcycles while combining that approach with an electric powertrain.

Shockwave production preparations underway

Ultraviolette has begun setting up a dedicated production line for the Shockwave at its existing manufacturing facility. The company has also confirmed that the motorcycle will be offered in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations.

“The Shockwave and Tesseract have been in parallel development over the past year and work is already underway to set up the Shockwave production line at our existing facility,” said Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO, Ultraviolette.

The company has not yet revealed the final technical specifications of the Shockwave. More details, including its performance figures, battery specifications, range and pricing, are expected to be announced closer to its Q1 2027 launch.

With the production line now being prepared, Ultraviolette is targeting a launch for the Shockwave in Q1 2027. The motorcycle will sit alongside the company's existing electric motorcycles while offering a more lightweight and performance-focused proposition.
