- Workers won the Printing Press Challenge with 66 pamphlets
- They took over the Penthouse and sent former rulers to the Basement
- Niharika remains Ultimate Ruler amid shifting alliances
The Workers overthrew the Rulers in the first Takhta Palat (coup) of Rise and Fall Season 2, taking control of the Penthouse after winning the Printing Press Challenge with 66 approved pamphlets. The result sent the former Rulers to the Basement, while Niharika Tiwari alone retained her position as Ultimate Ruler.
The change in hierarchy triggered fresh confrontations, alliance talks and questions of loyalty inside the Tower. The contestants also faced a betrayal-themed task, emotional moments during Shehzad Poonawalla's birthday, nominations and a chess-inspired game in the Red Room before Niharika's tenure ended and Sonam Malik was removed from the race for the crown.
The Takhta Palat followed a tense Printing Press Challenge, during which Jashwanth and Gautam Gulati had a heated exchange. The Workers remained focused on the task and secured 66 approved pamphlets to win the challenge.
The victory ended the former Rulers' control of the Penthouse. The Workers moved upstairs and became the new Rulers, while the defeated contestants were sent to the Basement. Niharika, however, retained her Ultimate Ruler status.
The shift also changed the contestants' view of their surroundings. The former Rulers found that life in the Basement was not as difficult as they had expected. Meanwhile, Niharika began revealing which contestants had fallen out of favour in the Tower.
Manish Kashyap, Jashwanth and Rishabh Jaiswal also began discussing an alliance, signalling further strategic moves after the power shift.
Irina's temperament sparks fresh arguments
The Takhta Palat did little to ease tensions inside the Tower. A discussion between Shehzad Poonawalla and Swara Bhasker about Irina Rudakova's temperament led to another confrontation.
Karan Patel and Swara reminded Irina that everyone had the right to express their views. The exchange added to the tensions as the contestants adjusted to the changing power dynamics.
Actor Dipali Sharma, known for Duniya Ki Thain Thain, then entered the show with a task centred on love, obsession and betrayal. The Rulers had to identify the contestant they believed was most likely to betray them.
Their answers revealed divisions within the group. Gautam named Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Jashwanth, while Jashwanth chose Sonam Malik. Sonam named Manish, and Manish also picked Sonam. Priyanka named Gautam, Niharika chose Rishabh, and Rishabh named Niharika.
The choices highlighted the lack of trust among contestants who may need one another to retain power.
Shehzad's birthday brings an emotional pause
Amid the arguments and alliance-building, Shehzad's birthday briefly shifted attention away from the competition. He received a letter from his family, while the Rulers got a cake and Priyanka received a special pastry.
Shehzad also had a video call with his mother. Their conversation left him in tears and moved the other housemates, offering a glimpse of the contestants' personal lives beyond the Tower's rivalries.
The pause was short-lived as Gautam began working on his plan to build Gautam City. He hoped to bring Jashwanth and Rishabh into his group, even as contestants continued to reassess their loyalties after the Takhta Palat.
Sonam loses the race for the crown
Week 4 brought another major change as all contestants were nominated for elimination. The Lift also announced the end of Niharika's tenure as Ultimate Ruler.
The Rulers were then asked to identify the contestant they considered least capable of claiming the crown. Sonam, Gautam and Priyanka faced criticism during the discussion, but Sonam was ultimately eliminated from the race for the throne.
The Red Room subsequently opened for the first time since the Takhta Palat. It hosted a chess-inspired game in which contestants had to make decisions that could affect another player's chances of becoming a Ruler.
Manisha and Jashwanth were the first pair to enter the game. They had to choose between Niharika and Rishabh and decide whom they considered unfit to rule.
With the Workers controlling the Penthouse, the former Rulers in the Basement and new alliances taking shape, the contestants must now try to hold on to power amid nominations and another struggle for control.
Produced by Banijay Asia, Rise and Fall Season 2 is hosted by Virender Sehwag and streams on Prime Video. New episodes are released daily at 12 noon.
