Range Rover SV sees Rs 75 lakh price drop, Sport SV down Rs 40 lakh

Jaguar Land Rover India has cut prices of UK-imported Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV by up to Rs 75 lakh, thanks to the India–UK FTA, boosting luxury SUV affordability.

Jaguar Land Rover India has announced a significant price revision for its flagship Range Rover CBU models imported from the UK, in anticipation of the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The move is aimed at passing on benefits to customers and strengthening the brand’s positioning in the luxury SUV space.

The biggest beneficiaries of this repricing are the Range Rover SV and the Range Rover Sport SV.

The Range Rover SV now starts at Rs 3.50 crore (ex-showroom), down from Rs 4.25 crore, marking a substantial reduction of Rs 75 lakh. Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport SV has been repriced to Rs 2.35 crore, compared to its earlier starting price of Rs 2.75 crore.

Alongside the price cut, JLR has enhanced the value proposition of the Range Rover SV by introducing SV Ultra Metallic paint finishes—available in both gloss and satin—as standard for the first time.

Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, said the move reflects the company’s customer-first approach and its intent to make the exclusive SV portfolio more accessible. He added that the anticipated FTA benefits are expected to further accelerate growth for the brand in India.

Importantly, the revised pricing applies only to completely built units (CBUs) imported from the UK. Locally assembled models such as the Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, and Discovery Sport, along with locally produced versions of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, will remain unaffected.

Similarly, models like the Defender and Discovery will continue with their current pricing, as they are manufactured in Slovakia and do not fall under the scope of the India–UK FTA.

With this proactive repricing, JLR India is positioning itself ahead of the policy shift, making its top-tier luxury SUVs more competitive in a segment where pricing plays a crucial role in buyer consideration.
