TikTok is laying off 250 employees in its Nashville office

NEW YORK - TikTok’s American joint venture said on Aug 5 that it was shuttering its Nashville, Tennessee, office, a space that housed, in part, members of its content moderation team.

The company laid off 250 employees, according to labour documents filed with the state of Tennessee. The workers there are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement, documents said. The office will close on Oct 5.
