Through the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), Odisha approved financial benefits amounting to ₹37.96 crore. Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi shared the numbers herself, mentioning: ₹7.37 crore went straight to employees, while ₹30.59 crore reached employers. The scheme’s core focus stays glued to manufacturing, pushing extra incentives to attract bigger investments, boost economic energy, and speed up real, sustainable job creation throughout the state.
This support also turned into direct jobs at two big, simultaneous events. In Bhubaneswar, employers from 12 different organizations handed 29 appointment letters to new recruits drawn from Khurda, Puri, and Nayagarh. Over in Cuttack, 10 employers presented 62 appointment letters to hires from Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Jajpur.

Both events linked up with a major national launch. Attendees saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live telecast, where he digitally transferred ₹2,400 crore in incentives to about 15 lakh first-time employees and their employers under the PM-VBRY scheme.
Coordinating these events, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Odisha, took the lead, hosting the state-level gathering on June 19. The event drew around 800 people—industry leaders, government officials, employers, and workers all under one roof. Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, MLA Babu Singh, Labour and ESI Department Additional Chief Secretary Chithra Arumugam, and Labour Commissioner Indramani Tripathy guided discussions in the capital, while Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi led in Cuttack.
