Over 10 injured as night coach bus rams into truck on NH-16 in Jajpur

Jajpur: More than 10 passengers of night coach bus have sustained serious injuries after it hit the rear of a parked truck on National Highway-16 near Gopalpur of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Thursday late night.

As per sources, the night coach bus named Sana Travels which was carrying over 50 passengers towards Kolkata from Bhubaneswar collided with a truck parked on the highway near Gopalpur.

Due to collision over 10 passengers sustained serious injuries and were safely rescued by local villagers and Fire and Emergency service personnel.

Those trapped passengers have been rushed to the Dharmasala Community health centre by ambulances.

The critically injured passengers who sustained major injuries have been shifted to the Kataka SCB Medical College and Hospital from Dharmasala.

However the rest of the passengers had minor injuries and luckily escaped the major tragedy.

On being informed, Dharmasala and Kuakhia police reached the spot and launched a probe seizing the crashed bus.
