Candidates must have passed the Class 10 with at least 50% marks from recognised board.
Candidates must have completed a three year diploma degree with a minimum of 50% marks from an AICTE-approved polytechnic institute.
The diploma streams that the candidates must have passed from includes Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, Instrumentation, Metallurgy, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Manufacturing Technology, Power Plant Engineering, and other related branches.
The age that the candidates must have for the job is between December 1, 2004, and May 31, 2009 for the batch 1. The batch 2 must have age between May 1, 2005, and October 31, 2009.

State wise shortlisting based on marks obtained
Physical fitness test (PFT)
Written examination
Recruitment medical examination
Final selection comes after assessment and medicals based on state wise merit list
