New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed as an accused in its supplementary charge sheet filed in connection with the Pahalgam terror attack case.
The NIA filed the charge sheet before a special NIA court, citing fresh evidence and investigation findings that link Saeed to the conspiracy behind the attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said the agency has traced funding, logistical support, and directions related to the attack to handlers operating from across the border.
The Pahalgam attack had triggered a massive security response and investigation by central agencies. With this supplementary charge sheet, the NIA has expanded the scope of accused persons and highlighted the alleged role of the LeT leadership in planning and executing terror activities in the Valley.

Hafiz Saeed, who is already designated as a global terrorist by the UN and wanted in several terror cases in India, has been charge-sheeted under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the BNS.
The NIA said further investigation is underway to identify other conspirators and networks involved in facilitating the attack.
Investigators added that evidence collected, including digital records and financial trails, formed the basis for naming Saeed in the case.
The Pahalgam terror attack was a deadly strike on tourists and civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area that left several people dead and injured. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor, a targeted military and counter-terror operation against terror infrastructure across the border linked to the attack.
